Sikkim mandates COVID negative reports for tourists.

April 7 onwards, tourists have to carry RT-PCR negative reports conducted 72 hours prior to their arrival to Sikkim. As per the new guidelines, homestays, hotels, and travel agents have to conduct the test on tourists arriving without the COVID negative report. The movement of vehicles between 10:30 PM to 6:00 AM has been restricted. Vehicular movement for emergency purposes will be allowed.

Last month, the government of Sikkim mandated the negative report for people coming from Kerala, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu due to the drastic rise in covid cases in these states.

Around 800,000 domestic travellers visit this region every year.
