Agra is one of the best places to visit in India when it comes to understanding Mughal architecture and also for a lot of other things. The one thing it is most famous for is, of course, the Taj Mahal and as they say, the best time to visit the Taj Mahal is now so what are you waiting for is now. The Agra Itinerary must include a few more things too though.
Now while Taj mahal has been said to be the main attraction. It isn’t the only place you have which can be visited. There are a plethora of other things which can be done and with the Taj Mahal there, the Hotels in Agra have also developed quite a lot and you can find all the major players having their properties there.
One thing we would suggest you do when you reach Agra is to try the food there. The Food in Agra is heavenly and you must try the Kachori there. They are used to their local Doodh Jalebi breakfast and while I would not recommend you to go to any fancy restaurant, eat from the local places that are there to be offered.
If you are a solo traveler and have some time on your hand, it would be great if you could include walking down the lanes of Agra and understanding the vernacular languages in your Agra Itinerary. You see a strong touch of the Braj bhasha which is spoken in the Vrindavan region amalgamated with the nawaabi language to offer you a perfect nostalgia trip. It is a good break from the regular city which has only shopping malls and clubs.
You could in a way imagine this city in monochrome with food. Another thing you should try if you get time is Fatehpur Sikri which isn’t too far from it. Visit the Moinudeen Chishti Dargah there.
