India gets its first green heritage site – SHORE TEMPLE.

Shore Temple in Tamil Nadu’s Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first-ever green energy archeological site in the country.

The entire complex illumination will now be powered by solar power plants. Three mini solar plants of 10kW each have been placed in the vicinity of the temple to make use of the abundant solar energy in the region.

The temple is also a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site.
