3-Day Digha Itinerary

Day 1:

A Family Outing

10:00 AM – 01:00 PM

If you are traveling with kids, then Wonderland Kajal Dighi is the place to start your day with.

The amusement park has a unique characteristic. A small lake is the centre of all the attention and boating on the lake is what families enjoy the most. A toy train ride is quite joyful and brings out the childishness of adults as well.

Time duration: 1 -1.5 hour

After this head towards Digha Science Centre at a distance of 1 km.

The museum was established to impart knowledge on science and technology to the local community. Multiple shows are organized to keep the visitors engaged. Visiting this place in during this time of the day is a wasy to escape the heat.

Embrace the natural world

02:00 PM – 06:00 PM

After some useful sessions, it will be time to hit the beach at New Digha Beach.

Take a walk from Digha Science Centre and on your way to the beach, you can look to have something to quench your hunger.

The beach is the place where you find large groups of tourists having a time of their lives. The sea waves here are quite aggressive unlike those of the Arabian Sea on the west coast of India.

Stay as long as you feel like.

Time duration: 2 – 3 hours

Mode of Transport: 10-minute walk from Digha Science Centre

Next attraction is the largest inbuilt aquarium in India, Marine Aquarium and Regional Centre (MARC).

This is a must visit place when in Digha. The aquarium showcases a distinctive display of variety of sea creatures. The specimens are used for scientific research and educational purpose. Visitors are not allowed after 06:00 PM.

Old Digha expedition

07:00 PM – 08:00 PM

At the end of the day, unwind yourself at Old Digha Sea Beach.

Old Digha Beach is the original beach which made Digha a favourite tourist destination for people of West Bengal. The arrangements made on this beach is perfect to spend the evenings.

Biswa Bangla Park is located adjacent to the sea beach and taking a leisurely walk inside the park is what you will be needing.

Time duration: 45 min – 1 hour

Mode of Transport: 5-min walk from MARC

After this, explore the Nehru Market on the opposite side of the main road to buy some souvenirs and get to know the way of life in Digha and call it a day!

Day 2:

Forest and Estuary

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Begin the second day at Casuarina Forest.

Casuarina forest is home to a multiple species of flora. The beauty lies in the sight of tall oak trees cover spanning a large area. Walking through the forest is surely a surreal experience and also you get to breathe the fresh air.

Time duration: 45 min

Mode of Transport: 15-min walk from Gobindasadan

After enjoying the forest cover, head towards the Champa River Estuary.

This is the point where river Champa meets the Bay of Bengal. The area is also known by the name of Mohana Beach, a rocky beach. The interesting part is that during high tides it becomes difficult to make the distinction between river and ocean. But when the tides are low, you can clearly see the point where the river ends.

Mode of Transport: 15-min walk from Casuarina Forest

Tajpur and Shankarpur Tour

01:00 PM – 05:00 PM

Next destination is Tajpur beach. The beach is 15 km from Digha and rent a cab or toto from Digha for a round trip.

Tajpur is another well-known beach and it cannot be missed. On the beach you find an assortment of local kitchens and dhabas serving you authentic sea food. Undoubtedly, you should have your lunch here

 Time duration: 1.5 – 2 hours

Your next spot is Shankarpur Fishing Port.

Fishing is an important activity in this region and Shankarpur Fishing Port is the hub of fishing. You get to see a large group of coloured boat which are used for catching variety of fresh fishes. Fishermen are often seen busy in their daily chores of collecting and segregating their catch and preparing them to dispatch.

Time duration: 1 – 1.5 hour

Ropeway ride and Nature Walk

06:00 PM – 07:00 PM

The last attraction of the day will be Amaravati Park.

Amaravati is a park developed to maintain the natural ecosystem of Digha. The park is very well-kept for tourists to enjoy their time around a pond. A ropeway ride has been organized to keep the visitors engaged. Overall an ideal place to spend the evening with friends and family.

Time duration: 45 min – 1 hour

Day 3:

Mandarmani Tour

10:00 AM – 05:00 PM

Mode of Transport: Mandarmani is 30 km from Digha and it is advised to rent a cab or a toto for the entire day.

First attraction in Mandarmani is Vivekananda Math.

An ashram that follows the principles of Swami Vivekananda. It is a complex consisting of a school, a dispensary, a temple and a guest house. The ambiance is peaceful and in contrast to the world outside the complex.

Time duration: 30 – 45 min

Adjacent to Vivekananda Math is a unique beach Lal Kakra Beach (Red Crab Beach)

The beach is in an isolated region and is home to an uncommon species of crab that are red in colour. These crabs keep tourists away from the beach. the sight of red crabs is really captivating.

Time duration: 30 – 45 min

The last spot to cover is the Mandarmani Beach.

This is a popular and lively beach. With market and restaurants, the beach is ideal for spending long hours. Take a dip in the sea water, have your lunch and then shop for local items in the market.

Time duration: 3 – 4 hours
