About Gwalior

The residence of some of the prominent figures of India, Gwalior is famously known as the Fort City. When you plan to visit Gwalior, you immerse yourself in the rich heritage, explore the lesser-known temples, discover about royal lineage, and embark on a musical journey.

The city was a residence of the legendary Indian musician and poet of the 14th century, Tansen, and the current residence of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and you find music, art, and culture to be at the very core in this city. Gwalior Fort and Scindia Palace reflect the rich and royal heritage the city had in the past.

Bateshwar group of temples, Chausath Yogini temple, and the Sun Temple take you on a spiritual journey. The temples are known more for their architectural beauty. Saas-Bahu temple and Teli temple inside the Fort complex are no different.

Languages commonly used in the city are Hindi, Bangla, and Marathi.

When to Travel?

Gwalior can be visited any time of the year. Although our recommendation is to plan your visit any time from November to March. That is the best time to visit Gwalior. The temperature remains below 30 degrees and the chances of rain are next to nil.
