About Ladakh

Arid mountains, breath-taking landscapes, picturesque monasteries, and high-altitude passes – these are the characteristics of Ladakh. The union territory shares its borders with China on the east and Pakistan on the west and that’s why the region is under the strict surveillance of the Indian military.

Tourism in Ladakh has grown over the last ten years or so with the development of the civilian airport and national highways. Ladakh is a dream destination for every traveler for reasons more than one. The challenges of getting used to the climate, exploring the region through extreme roads, and camping at freezing temperatures are what make Ladakh an adventurous destination.

It’s intriguing to learn about the way of life of the people living in some of the villages near the international borders. There you find people living the houses that are more than a hundred years old.

Languages commonly used in this town are Hindi, English, Ladakhi, and Tibetan.
