Your day’s sightseeing begins after having breakfast at the famous Kulcha Land at Ranjit Avenue. Try out their potato and paneer kulcha with a glass of lassi.

Post breakfast, head towards the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum at Ram Bagh, 3 km from Kulcha Land.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh, famously known as Sher-E-Punjab, was the first king of the Sikh Empire. He is an icon and a role model for the people of Punjab. The museum was used to be the palace of the Maharaja. Now it is open for the public to view the belongings of the King. The museum walks you through the heroics and journey of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s life. You cannot afford to miss this when in Amritsar.

Time duration: 1.5 – 2 hours

2 km from the museum is the Durgiana Temple.

Dedicated to Goddess Durga, the temple is also known as Laxmi Narayan Mandir. It is actually a temple complex with Hanuman temple and Sheetla Mata Mandir and Dugiana Temple in the center. What attracts the tourists here is the fact that the architecture of the temple complex is strikingly similar to that of the Golden Temple.

At a distance of 1 km from the temple, you stop at Kesar Da Dhaba for lunch. The restaurant was established in the year 1916 at a place close to Lahore. However, after partition, the dhaba has been serving its customers from the narrow lanes of Amritsar.

Light and Sound Show in the Fort

03:00 PM – 08:00 PM

Gobindgarh Fort is around 2 km from Kesar da Dhaba and an important landmark of Amritsar.

Almost 300 years old, the fort is now a museum that showcases the culture and history of Punjab. It was previously controlled by the Indian Army, but after 2017, the fort is open to the public. There are multiple sections of the museums where live shows are performed. Tickets can be bought till 04:00 PM.
