Mahal (Palace) Hopping

Today’s sightseeing begins at Amer Fort (Amber Palace)
The fort has been the administrative centre for the Rajput kings and you can figure that out by its location. The fort sits on a hill top and is surrounded by couple of forts, lakes and hills. Entries begin at 08:00 AM and it is advised to get here early to enjoy the marvellous fort with limited crowd.
Inside the complex is Panna Meena ka Kund, an iconic stepwell of Amer. These stepwells were very popular in ancient India and can be found in many cities. These stepwells are now used for water conservation and converted to tourists spot to spread awareness about the water pool system.

After this, you head for the famous Jal Mahal
The water palace is located in the centre of Man Sagar Lake but you only get the glimpse from the shore. The lake is home to a few exotic and indigenous birds.

900 meters from Jal Mahal is MM Khan Restaurant. The restaurant serves north Indian cuisines and is very popular. The price range at this hotel is Rs 500 – 600 for two.

Fort Hopping

Next stop is Jaigarh Fort, 6 km from Jal Mahal.
Another majestic fort whose name translates to fort of victory. This is believed to be the strongest of all the forts in Jaipur. The fort also houses the largest canon on wheels – Jaivana Canon. The fort gates are closed at 04:30 PM

Last and final fort is Nahargarh Fort.
Nahargarh fort sits on top of the Aravalli hills and was built primarily to guard the city. The position of the fort is such that a 360-degree panoramic view of the city can be captured. The fort is often used for filming historical movie scenes.
Gaitor ki Chatriyan is the burial site of the royal kings within the fort premises. The architecture of these structures is something one cannot give a miss. Not many tourists pay a visit here, hence this is an ideal place for photographers to get a clean shot. Entry is not allowed after 05:30 PM.

The Night View of the Albert Hall Museum
