Embrace the Nature

09:00 AM – 05:00 PM

Today’s itinerary lets you explore the natural beauty of Shillong at the Laitlum Canyons.

It takes more than an hour to get here. All through the journey, you get to see the panoramic landscapes. The road runs through traditional villages. As you tread along, you realise that region is not yet developed and only few houses have access to electricity. Laitlum Canyon is hard to describe in words. Once you be there, it becomes difficult to leave. Bollywood movie, Rock On 2, was shot at this location.

There is only one shop here that serves maggi, tea, coffee and other items to fill you up.

On the way to (or back from) Laitlum Canyon, you can stop for a while at the Mawrymphiat Park at Smit. This park is an off-beat place and you don’t find many tourists here. The purity of atmosphere is intact and that is what you must endure.
